To promote “German- European culture” in our school, I´d kindly ask for everyone to make sure that the students locate their chairs like it is shown in the picture below at the end of each school day before they are heading out of class.
In German schools the chairs are generally designed this way, so that the students can easily put them on the table and make life easier for the cleaning lady.
And as students arrive in the morning it should be part of their job to take down the chairs – even if it´s for their fellow classmates who haven´t arrived yet – preparing for class as part of a morning routine.
It´s a gesture and a habit that doesn´t cost anything at all. And it is a typical German detail that can be easily implemented in daily school life.
