The book is a part of the «tiger and the bear» series. In this book series, they go on many adventures together and are best friends. Because they had heard that everything in Panama is wonderful, the characters in «Oh, wie schön ist Panama» decide to leave their home and travel there. In the end, they just keep going in circles and never really get there. They were returning to their home while believing they were in Panama. And they cherished the «new home» they had made in Panama, which was their old one.
The moral of the tale is, to get a new perspective of your own home and to appreciate it.
In Germany the first edition of this book was published in 1978. Since than its used a lot in kindergarten, schools and at home to read it to children”
