We have been exploring nature around the school. Students went outside with their magnifying glasses and papers to document their findings. We have been discussing what is a part of nature and what is not. After collecting the nature items we have been sorting them by properties and sizes connecting with math using non-standard measurement tools and learning the vocabulary for small, medium, and large.
We found a grasshopper, took a picture, and studied it in the classroom. Students made their scientific drawings and investigated using books and informational videos to conduct research.
We will continue having more nature walks to explore our surroundings.
